Introduction

iSCADA is an Internet-based SCADA solution. It provides SCADA-like features enabling users to monitor and control virtually any appliance from any part of the world with an Internet connection.  It is commonly used as an asset management tool for facility managers and building owners to monitor the status of various building services in real time. Public utilities providers like telecommunication, power and water are able to implement exception-based (digital) and conditioning monitoring (analogue) capabilities.

Data from transducers and building services like Fire Alarm System, Chiller System, Pump Systems, Generators, Security Systems, etc are collected by various gateway and slave devices. When an event (like an alarm or a fault) is detected, the Gateway automatically connects to the Internet, logs on to www.devicesworld.net and reports the event to the iSCADA server. This event is processed and logged in the database for reporting and analysis. If programmed to do so, the iSCADA server will automatically send out alerts by email and SMS to notify registered users of the event.

Authorized users may log on to the iSCADA server through any Internet connection to monitor and configure their devices. While online, users may view consolidated information of all systems from all sites on an easy-to-use iSCADA client software. New events will be updated automatically in real time. To facilitate monitoring of large installations with multiple building services and buildings from many sites, the iSCADA client software allows users to monitor by “Location” or monitor by “System”.

Online reports may be generated from historical data for analysis, management reporting or auditing. The statistical analysis module automatically computes Key maintenance Performance Indicators (KPIs) like System Availability, Downtime hours and Failure counts.
